May 8th, 2026, marks the release date for …And You Will Remember This Winter, the debut EP from Appalachian Raw Black Metal duo ZARAZA. Featuring eight tracks at around 25 minutes of harrowing sonic darkness, …And You Will Remember This Winter is an occult excavation of Appalachia and the Rust Belt land shaped by extraction, violence, and abandonment. Through Raw Black Metal ritual, the duo comprising ZARAZA – Azara and Mictlantecuhtli – exhume hollers, battle runs, and dead towns where coal, iron, and blood were taken until nothing remained but ruin and memory.
The soil remembers. The walls remember. History bleeds through stone.
There is no god, no nation, no false cosmic order here. Only night, land, and what they claim. …And You Will Remember This Winter is not an escape – it is remembrance, carved into the cold earth.
Bound to place and consequence, these songs summon witchcraft rooted in landscape and anti cosmic collapse born from sanctioned decay. Appalachian folklore, frontier violence, and industrial rot coil together into a vision where progress is erasure and ruin is doctrine. Drawing inspiration from events like the 1793 ambush at Battle Run in Jefferson County, Ohio, the forest is not passive – it witnesses, absorbs, and waits.
The duo of Azara and Mictlantecuhtli deliver eight new tracks of blaspheming Raw Black Metal across a period of roughly 25 minutes. Featuring multiple guest contributions, including those of Mor Grish (BURIAL OATH/OFSTINGAN) and NECHOCWHEN members Nechocwhen and Pohonasin, ZARAZA bring the folkloric specters of the Appalachian hollers to twisted life.
ZARAZA is a vicious two-piece Raw Black Metal band, born from the hills of Appalachia and the decayed streets of the Rust Belt. Rising from holler and rust, gnawing at the marrow of time, a blasphemy against life and cosmos, summoning shadows that devour memory and light.
